What We Believe
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:3&4
Our mission statement reads:
We seek to be a generous church for the whole community, committed to growing together in love for our Saviour Jesus Christ and sharing His love with others.
In other words we're all about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus... We have Jesus on our lips, and we hold Jesus in our hearts. Our longing is that all of our church activities provide you with the opportunity to engage with Jesus, and see how He is God come to Earth, and how He is the only one who can truly heal our hurting world; our aching hearts; and give us a meaning and purpose that lives on even after death.
Alfold and Loxwood is an Anglican Parish Church. As such we believe in the historic teaching and formularies of the Church of England, set out in the Thirty-nine Articles, the Ordinal and the Book of Common Prayer.
As a PCC we have voted to subscribe to the Church of England Evangelical Council’s Basis of Faith.
